News 5 in Phoenix reports train vs pedestrian along a UP line nrar Mesa. Reported as a fatality. Reporter "...officials report the victim was decapitated...". Gross, and wholly unneeded details.

A number of years ago when I lived in Oakland, CA there was a story in the local paper about a girl who was climbing between freight cars and was cut in two when she fell underneath the wheels as the train started to move. One witness report horrible screams and a investigating policeman said it was the worse thing he had ever seen.

Graphic story but maybe it saved a few lives.

This happened in Phoenix near 27th Ave & Buckeye RD this morning.

One side of me says 'bring on the gory details', but another side of me says 'spare me'. The problem is that the people most likely to get themselves into such situations are oblivious..

I remember that. Her n several of friends was waiting for a U.P. auto train conductor to line the switch behind his train coming off the MELROSE line. Her friends made it across but she didn't. Blocking the crossing between FRUITVALE & 66TH AVE. for more then 20mins. cost Uncle Pete a pretty penny for that incident.
