Western Railroad Discussion > Adding the Human ElementDate: 05/30/12 19:17 Adding the Human Element Author: pmack Like most of us, I'm always trying to be a better photographer and take more interesting photos. I was at Carkeek Park in Seattle a few days ago and most of the people not at Folklife were also there. I thought I'd try to add some of them in my photos since the trains are mostly orange GEs. I was using a telephoto zoom and didn't even notice the kid when I took this photo. I saw the couple sitting on the log and thought they made an interesting foreground element as they watched 467 lead the Cascades north toward BC.
When I got home and saw the photo on the computer, I realized there is sometimes too much human element. Date: 05/30/12 19:22 Re: Adding the Human Element Author: amtrak8 Sorry, couldn't resist...
But you also got a partial moon...err...eclipse maybe? Date: 05/30/12 19:22 Re: Adding the Human Element Author: pmack Here's one more with more people, less crack and the orange GEs. As soon as the kids see the train rounding the corner at Richmond Beach to the north or passing Golden Garden to the south, they start toward the pedestrian overpass to watch the train go by. Some of the adults barely noticed.
