Western Railroad Discussion > Late Amtrak and new paint for a UP -9WDate: 06/05/12 08:32 Late Amtrak and new paint for a UP -9W Author: lilwes A 2+ hour late Amtrak #4 at MP 40.2 on the Topeka Sub, BNSF. I can remember when that very signal was a semaphore. Now I can cross this picture off of my bucket list. Then on the UP side of the river at MP 58.90 (east of Grantville, KS) on the Kansas Sub a EB manifest had UP 9737 in brand new paint. Shoot fire I thought it was another new gevo coming my way.
Thanks for looking; later...Wes Wes Chiles Topeka, KS Date: 06/05/12 09:06 Re: Late Amtrak and new paint for a UP -9W Author: RyanWilkerson The trucks almost look silver...probably just the reflection.
Ryan Wilkerson Fair Oaks, CA Date: 06/05/12 13:58 Re: Late Amtrak and new paint for a UP -9W Author: dcfbalcoS1 Those trucks are going to have to go a lot farther to look silver. Fuel tank too.

No gimmicks, just a classy and historic paint scheme, the last of the originals... cheers, Lorne Miller Date: 06/05/12 16:38 Re: Late Amtrak and new paint for a UP -9W Author: chefjavier I prefer the UP Flag......
