IPFX - SLC. Former ExpressTrak reefers
Author: Jaanfo

Following up a post from August... http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,2836648,2837594#msg-2837594

Either the strand of cars which had been renumbered with IPFX reporting marks has been removed after sitting for two months, or the IPFX reporting marks have been once again replaced, now with SLC reporting marks. Any details from anybody?

Are you sure about that? While Iowa Pacific's San Luis & Rio Grande is the only outside connection for the San Luis Central, the SLC has been (and AFAIK continues to be) owned by Ed Burkhardt, he of Rail World and Wisconsin Central fame. SLC was his first purchase, well before anyone had thought of WC.

If that's changed, I'll gladly stand corrected, but I'm thinking not.

Perhaps SLC/Rail World has subleased some cars or taken a stake in the refrigerator fleet, as a significant portion of the potatoes shipping out of that area do originate on SLC.

The SLC cars are an entirely different selection of numbers. Basically the whole Express track fleet has been re-lettered and split up between IPFX and SLC IDs. No IPFXs were re-lettered to SLC.
