Couple from the Lake
Author: railtime

To sit at Palmer Lake and listen to the motors churning, wheels grinding and slow motion train climbing the grade is one of those unique experiences. In the distance the engines can be heard as the grumble to life, tugging on the cars, urging them up the hill. Wheels slipping, squealing, sand falling, life pauses for the moment.

Thanks for looking

Talkin with a guy while waiting for the 844. He walked across the lake on dry ground, the red sea...? On the way back he picked from the lake bed a fish plate, tie plate and a spike. He did a little policing.

Sad to see the pond down like that.
