"The Moody Mountains called the Cascades"
Author: BrianA

A quote from a 1964 record album the Northern Pacific put out to describe what the NP had ahead of them as they built the railroad west out of Pasco, WA to Puget Sound. On some days the Cascades can be just that, moody. Today, November 12, 2012 the Cascades fit that description after a good snowfall overnight lingering into this morning.

1) Here a BNSF Geo Train with Warbonnet 4701 up front comes down off those moody mountains into Easton, WA.
2-3) Less than 10 minutes later the train has found a sunbreak between Easton and Cle Elum, WA leaving the Cascades behind.

Great scenery, classic warbonnet power, nice train... ruined by that atrocious-looking ex-SP bilevel car on the end. I hope it's plush inside at least.

Not so much the Moody mountains in that first shot, more like the Misty Mountains! Great catch!
