Holbrook AZ potash considerations
Author: ATSF5669

This very interesting article on potash deposits in the area of Holbrook AZ showed up in a daily investor email: it's very interesting reading with big tonnage implications for the BNSF.

Earlier post suggested the Apache will have to build to it.
Sure would be a thorn in UPs side. They buy the competition. And it's closer than the Wyoming stuff to export.

The Wyoming "stuff" is Soda Ash "Trona" , completely different from Potash. Wyoming sits atop the largest known natural reserve of Soda Ash in the World. About 500-1000 years worth at current rates of mining. Soda Ash has many uses. The largest single use is the manufacture of Glass.

Potash is a different Mineral. It is mined in Utah and in larger quantities in New Mexico. It also is mined in large quantities in Canada. It is largely used as fertilizer.
