UP vs. 18-Wheeler in Montebello This Morning
Author: SoCalCynic

Good Morning TO-Land,

I saw local news coverage in the 7:00 a.m. hour of an 18-Wheeler in Montebello that did not beat the train (UP stack train) through a crossing. I can not find a story on the usual local L.A. news web sites, but the pictures were impressive - the trailer wrapped around an auto body shop next to the tracks, the crossbucks from the crossing were pinched between the trailer and the building, and the crossing guard arm ended up on the roof of the auto body shop!

KTLA indicated that the Metrolink Riverside Line was blocked (thus the line involved). Here's the blurb I could find on the Metrolink site: "RIV Line is now open for movement, and trains will be able to stop at Montebello, starting with train 407(delayed up to 30 min)

"Fright" would certainly apply to anyone working in the body shop when this happened.
