Western Railroad Discussion > Toto Tuesday: UP 5501 at 1st lightDate: 11/20/12 06:21 Toto Tuesday: UP 5501 at 1st light Author: santafe199 I spent an enjoyable day between Marysville, KS & Fairbury, NE on Monday (19th). I shot in several familiar spots and picked up a few brand new locations as well.
The day started out with scenes of UP 5501 greeting the morning sun with a very long manifest. I've seen this train a few times now, and am always amazed by how long it is. So long that the DP unit has always been cut into the rear portion of the train. One of these days I'll memorize the train symbol, but for now I'll rely on someone with easier access to the train's ID. Enjoy 1st light in north-central Kansas UP 5501-style... 1. & 2. UP 5501 emerges out of a long Nebraska night. The elevator in Herkimer, KS is also receiving the first morning rays of sunshine. 3. The 5501 is in silhouette crossing over 6th Rd in Herkimer. 5. After a crew change the 5501 is just a couple of minutes away from continuing its march to Kansas City. Date: 11/20/12 06:23 Re: Toto Tuesday: UP 5501 at 1st light Author: santafe199 6. & 7. Coming & going from the Matador Rd. overpass east of Upland, KS.

Thx
