Herzog Ballast Train in Roseville

I spotted on the Rock Pile tracks around 1600 today...missed the unit numbers...but it almost looked like a "unit train" with Herzog ballast cars in the 99xx series.

I did get HRZG 9941 as one of the cars.

Where's it headed??

Are they laying ballast on the high speed rail project yet??

I saw this train when it was traveling down the UP Brooklyn Sub between Portland Oregon and Eugene Oregon.. The leader was UP 7501 with 2 SD70M's and an UP SD70ACE. It did have the CP 8888 and the UP 7756.. I have heard that the CP 8888 was added to the M-RVHK-25. I'm not sure the UP 7756 was added to the H-RVHK too..

It didn't have the CP unit when it went through Chico, CA around 1330 this afternoon.

That must be it...it looks like they added a unit...but, I could have miscounted in Roseville.

Surprised the company didn't paint those cars a very pale shade of gray.
