From Stampede to Pardise
Author: BrianA

Saturday morning 11-24-12 I was on my way to photograph the MRL in Montana and was briefly sidetracked with the BNSF 6345 East out of Easton, WA on the ex-NP Stampede Pass line. Had a few sunbreaks at the right time at Bullfrog and Cle Elum. What, no rainbow?! After Cle Elum I left the Xtrain behind and continued on my way to Montana.

The next morning at Plains, MT what is the first train to show up, but that Xtrain, BNSF 6345 East, and it's still on the ex-NP! Here it is passing the ex-NP Paradise depot and about to head off onto the Evaro line for Missoula.

The new signal location at East Paradise is sure going to make spotting the power for a depot shot difficult. Wait, the FRA doesn't allow the crews to do that any more. Maybe it was a good time to retire.

Nice images, Brian.
