Western Railroad Discussion > U.P. Loco Dedicated to Lincoln?

Has anybody heard if the U.P. is planning to dedicate a locomotive to President Lincoln? It would only seem appropriate to do so. Afterall, he's the reason we have the railroad built to join the Union with the Pacific in the first place! BTW, I just saw the new Lincoln movie and it was truly amazing.

So what would that be, the UP 1865?

For the record, I saw "Lincoln" last weekend as well, and enjoyed it quite thoroughly.

Lincoln is a great movie that everyone should see, but personally I would paint up a pair of SD70Ace's, one in honor of The Jupiter and another for UP No. 119. I think Mr. Lincoln would agree with this, too. Wonder if this idea has been proposed to anyone in Omaha yet?

I like the Jupiter/119 idea! It would be a GREAT for the Golden Spike celebration year!
