BNSF Aberdeen Sub - Unusual train
Author: bmarti7

We are used to seeing grain and oil unit trains going through Yankton, SD. However this morning at 7:45 an empty coal train was going through EASTBOUND. I couldn't see the lead units number. I am guessing it went through Mitchell, SD around 4 am. I would love to know the routing of this train. Thanks.

Probably one that has come out of storage heading for SUX and then LIN. BNSF stuffs all kinds of stored equipment around SD as it tends to not get repainted or damaged as it would in other areas.

Thanks to all. Your're right about the tagging - not many gangs in SD.
