One for 12-12-12
Author: GrandeGold

I confess to being a bit of a number nerd. I've always been fond of doubles, triples, quadruples, etc. Being that today is none other than 12-12-12, I set out to find something to photograph.

UP's St. John Local, aka the LUE46 filled the bill quite nicely, arriving at North Yard with a fine pair of SD40Ns for power. It suddenly felt like the 1970s again. Groovy!

For the history buffs, the 532 is a UP original, built the Union Pacific GP38-2 #2032 in April 1974.

Have a terrific remainder of your Twelve Twelve Twelve day!

James, I believe the adjective "Groovy" predates 1974 by about 6 or 7 years. Nevertheless, a groovy photo indeed!

I went nerdy too, looking for a subject to record at 12:12 on 12/12/12. Oakland, CA's coachyard seemed like a good bet to find *something* at the appointed minute, albeit not nearly as groovy as SD40N's. Unfortunately, CDTX 2012 was nowhere to be found - had to make do with P42DC 97 waiting for its next assignment, with CDTX 2014 hiding in the background. Nothing special here except for the date and time.

Thanks for the fine photo James. Salt Lake was my old stomping grounds during college and beyond.

Boy, almost any shot toward those mountains just is always a good shot. Impressive backdrop.
