One of the Conductors I used to work with got into a little trouble, and had to go spend a day in the Dispatchers office, seated next to the DS. They wanted him to see how busy they were, how much work they had to do, and how stressful their job really is. He said they had a break room up there, with a big block of "Prozac" sitting in the middle of the table. They would come in & out all day, and just lick on it, like cattle with a mineral block, then go back to work for a few minutes. I don't know if it was true or not.

They also use those Prozac blocks for Air Traffic Control Tracons and Towers...I can just see the local (Tower) Controllers at JFK and LAX lapping like kittens! LMAO!!!! - Steve

Prozac costs too much, that was just a placebo labeled Prozac.

That is just too funny! Probably true, as well.

Thanks, the more I think about that one, the funnier it gets.

Did the conductor change his attitude about dispatchers after that session?

That sounds more like the cheap ass outfits I've worked for (including a Class 1).

As an ex ATC'er in the ARTCC working heavy traffic, the cartoon was very humorous.

That's GREAT. And too true, unfortunately.

When the meltdown happens from cyber-warfare from a hostile country or regime, we'll wish we had some of that old-fashioned, RELIABLE hardware . . .

Is there any source to get a larger version of that cartoon?
