Locomotive plow questions

Can anyone tell me how much a typical locomotive plow weighs?

Do different style plows use a common "bolt pattern"? Basically, can you replace one style plow with a different style plow using the existing pilot holes? or do the pilots typically need to be re-drilled to install a different style plow?

There are somewhat standardized locations for holes and slots so a variety of plows can be mounted. As a final resort there is always a cutting torch handy on the railroad.
