Western Railroad Discussion > Crashed AmCal Car CDTX 8204 in DavisDate: 12/16/12 19:00 Crashed AmCal Car CDTX 8204 in Davis Author: Amtrakdavis22 Some of you may have heard of CDTX 8204 being involved in a crash between a San Joaquin train and a farm truck. I believe no one seriously hurt in the accident although a few people were taken the hospital. CDTX 8204 is now in need of repairs and so Union Pacific was asked to transport it from Stockton to Suisun (hence the symbol SSTSU). Once in Suisun, the cabcar will be given to CFNR/MIRS and taken to Mare Island where it will be repaired. Here the train comes through the Davis Amtrak station. It sure was an interesting looking move!

The AMTK 94 is n OAKLAND getting repairs to her airbrake system so she can be transported back to BEECH GROVE for rebuild.

UP came in a few months ago and took out the bushes as well as putting up a fence that blocks any crossing of the tracks between Cowell and Pole Line Undercrossing/Overpass. I'm sure Lennar will be receiving a Cease and Desist letter as soon as they try to stop one of the rail service users from from receiving more rail cars. This will end up in court and as soon as Lennar figures out they won't be able to build a bunch of very tightly packed "houses" on top of a potential EPA Superfund clean-up site, they'll sell. |
