A long coal empty just highballed Silt, CO (UP Glenwood Springs Sub) abt 1:15 PM MST. Nothing unusual abt westbound coal empties here, except this one was solid CSX cars led by two CSX motors! No helpers either, just the two on the point.

It's a CUDWE, running from East St. Louis to West Elk (Arco), CO. There was one back on the 14th through western Kansas, two on the 15th, one today, and one scheduled for tomorrow.

There were some rumors here in the east that these were heading for export on east coast.

Way too far away for engine numbers, at least for these shaky old hands holding the bonocs, sorry.

Here is what I was given on the CSX trains across KS and one came down from Cheyenne. I don't know which one Lowater seen out in Western CO. upkpfan

Came in from Cheyenne.
UP6069 was added North Platte for cab signals across the mainline.

Approaching Byers, due into Denver 11:20 today.


These two are scheduled to leave Salina after 9pm tonight.
