I have a question for any of my fellow T.O. members out there who live in the western slope of Colorado, or who visit regularly to photograph the trains in the Grand Junction area/North Fork branch.

I have been informed by a friend who lives in my hometown of Montrose Co., that the Montrose Local, has changed it's schedule, and does not operate on Friday's any more.

Since my friend is not much of a railfan, I wasn't sure if his information is all that accurate.

I am planning my Christmas vacation from my home here in Boise to visit family in Montrose, and would enjoy photographing the Montrose local while I was there.

Any information regarding the operating schedule of the Montrose Local would be appreciated.

The Montrose Local's schedule changed this summer. The last Friday run was June 8, 2012 and the last Sunday return run was June 10, 2012.

It now runs to Montrose on Tuesday and returns to Grand Junction on Wednesday.
