TNM and oil
Author: tomstp

Trains web site says the number of oil companies loading oil on Texas New Mexico in tank cars has now risen to 5. I wonder how many cars a day or month that averages?

What was the new traffic estimate, 28,000/r, divide that by 12, that's 2333, about 75% bulk oil
so about 1750 cars per month. Now, Ed will get on and tell me I'm nuts.

You are not nuts, but we are still mostly frac sand. Oil was about 700 cars in Feb, plan is for about 18 unit trains by May.

Compared to what that line hauled twenty years ago that's mind blowing.
