UP's power doesn't stay clean for long
Author: JMorhaus

All photos were taken today in Washington Missouri on Union Pacific's Jeff City Sub. Thanks for taking a look!

1: Freshly painted AC44CW UP 6198 (ex SP 141) passes by with looks of oil and fuel spilled on the side of it.

2: Another view of UP 5891 and UP 6198 working as DPU's.

3: UP 6954 leads a west bound empty through Washington.

4: Amtrak 171 leads the Missouri River Runner train #313 west towards it's next stop at Hermann Missouri.

5: UP 7360 and UP 5182 leads (I think) ISEDU east towards St. Louis Missouri.

6: UP 5666 and UP 6618 leads a west bound empty through Washington.

6198 looks GREAT! How I wish all the new GEVO's arrived looking like this. The flag campaign is SO stale at this point.

I'm not a real fan of the Union Pacific but that new paint job is plain and simple; that's what makes it great and far superior to that scheme that the second motor is wearing.

This may be a dumb question but.....how do you know (and keep track of) what the old SP unit was numbered? Is there a web site out there that does this..or is it just good rail fanning and good record keeping?
