Making the Best of a Cloudy Morning
Author: rrartist

The newer NS power is really showing up on the Bakken oil trains through La Crosse (WI) as shown with the NS 8133 leading two more newer NS GEs with an east bound load departing early this morning. I heard something about a CP 631 approaching La Crescent and ventured across the Mississippi to check it out and found three Blue/Yellow EMDs, lead by the ICE 6411 rolling into town - SWEET!

My son Andrew was called for an NS oil empty with yet another trio of newer NS power, this time the NS 8112 leads the charge with an awesome trumpet salute as he motored the train West toward the Twin Cities. Moving over to Dakota in search of CP train 270, I found two CP west bounds first. CP 8844 leads CP 285 into the curve at Dakota MN followed closely by CP 199, CP 9363.

Five trains, all with sets of power in matched paint schemes? Did the world tilt off its axis or something? Great stuff!

I found CP 270 in hazy sun near Lamoille MN with the CP 6246 leading two more EMDs. The rain was closing in as I photographed CP 270 one last time at Donehower MN. Have a GREAT Easter!
