Top ten scenic areas of the Union Pacific- #10, Ozark A
Author: tolland

I thought I would post a few photos from what I believe are the top ten places for scenery on today's current Union Pacific route. Of course, I would be biased to the Rocky Mountain states but at any rate, there are some very scenic areas trackside.

The first location is Ozark, Arkansas. Between North Little Rock and Van Buren, the railroad route is adjacent to the Arkansas River on which a dam was built that created a lengthy lake, Ozark Lake. In this picture, we're headed northbound and the town of Ozark is on the opposite side of the train. I think they call this the Van Buren sub. The year was 2006.

All depends on your neighborhood . . but that's a nice one.

The Columbia River Gorge could claim the top 10 spots all by itself.
