Western Railroad Discussion > A Sad Looking 601Date: 06/15/13 20:50 A Sad Looking 601 Author: BNSF-6432 During the end of May, Oklahoma was having terrible weather and a couple of days after the Moore tornado hit, we had another round of thunderstorms coming for Tulsa, OK the day I shot these two trains on May 30th in Tulsa's Cherokee yard. The first is a northbound off of the Creek sub from Texas with a colorful set of power.
The second was a westbound off the Cherokee sub with another very sad looking early 600 leading. After that it was time to head indoors for more Oklahoma weather... I can't imagine the inside of the cab looks much better.

Sorry, but I can't get behind that statement. I'm no H3 fan, but a clean engine in fresh paint looks infinitely better than that thing, as evidenced by the photos below. - Jeff Carlson Date: 06/15/13 22:38 Re: A Sad Looking 601 Author: ATSF100WEST Date: 06/16/13 00:34 Re: A Sad Looking 601 Author: 55002 Maybe the 'then' & 'now' photos of 601 should be sent to a certain Mr Buffett. It may shame him into spending some of his profits.
