A different view of the Cantara Bridge
Author: photobob

Stopped by Cantara Loop this afternoon to check the progress of the derailed car removal. I think the instructions on these center beams are very true.

No wonder they tipped over, look at the angle of that bridge! :)

Hello Bob

Man! If that car had been just a little further down the track, all that expensive over engineered structure would have prevented that car from tipping over.

Right?

That's my 2 cents worth.

The old home town looks upside down
As I lie here on the ground
And there beside me is the freight train I rode in on
Down the lane I look, and there runs Bessie
Good old cow, but sure is messy
Again I touch the green, green grass of home.

I was skeptical too, but after seeing that "guard rail" up close, there is no way any rail car is going to fall off of the bridge! It may derail directly ahead of or behind the railing and slide down the bank, but nothing is coming off of the inside of the bridge...
