Lake Pend Oreille at Dawn
Author: bobwilcox

It is 5:41 AM on June 23. This westbound grainer has just come off the bridge over Lake Pend Oreille. The train is pulled by BNSF 4781and 4651 (GE Dash 9-44CW) and pushed by BNSF 7530 and the BNSF 7871 (GE ES 44DC).

Fantastic. My family used to rent a cabin on the banks of Pend-Oreille in the summer for a family reunion. We no longer do that, although with all the recent Empire Builder hassle I did get to see the lake in daylight once!

I, too, thought that image number 1 was the best of the bunch. Thanks for posting.

For the uninitiated: It is pronounced 'Lake Pond-O-Ray'.
