On Sep 7th & 8th, The Virginia & Truckee Railroad, in partnership with West Coast Railroaders Group, will host a NARCOA motorcar run over the famous line between Carson City, NV and Virginia City, NV. Along with the motorcar group, West Coast Railroaders Group will be providing fire patrol behind the steam train. There is also a special "toast of the canyon" steam train running Saturday at 5pm from Carson City, to Eureka and return. Come on out and ride the train, see over 25 motorcars, and watch the fire patrol battle the heavy grades using steam era motorcars to protect the right of way. This will be an exciting, non stop weekend of mountain railroading at its best.

The down the canyon is kinda neat if you haven't done it before.

If V&T still does it their will be contest at Eureka siding on how many echoes you can hear. It is in double digits. Amazing.
