San Ber aka "spud". Date: 09/02/13 18:51 Re: FEDEX Author: gmojim These Fed Ex Multimodal are usually Fed Ex Freight loads. Fed Ex Freight is an LTL trucker and they now offer 2 levels of service just like Fed Ex Express air freight.
The overnight and very fast service is over the road and the slower differed service is railroad intermodal where possible. A lot of Fed Ex Freight customers seem to like the differed service as they pay a lower freight rate. Same with Fed Ex Express, many shippers like the differed 2 day service and pay less and the packages move by truck instead of airplane in many lanes. Any Fed Ex division can use the MultiModal trailers, but it is usually the Freight division using them. gmojim Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/02/13 18:53 by gmojim. As seen here, more FedEx trailers these days than UPS. Maybe they should consider going containers like UPS did and expand even more... If you looked at the last quarter earnings for both FedEX and UPS, I believe they show less earning because some shippers are using the lower cost options.

Both. Some trains are the former, and ALL trains are the latter. So be careful out there... Tor in Eugene Date: 09/03/13 19:26 Re: FEDEX Author: DFWJIM What city or town is that in the background?
