BNSF in Whittier????
I thought that only the UP and the PE had tracks in Whittier, and those are abandoned.

Whittier adjacent then. My GPS in the car called it Whittier - Slauson crossing of DT Junction and San Gabriel River.

Depends on what side of the river bed you're on...could be Whittier, or Los Nietos, heck, maybe even Santa Fe Springs.
I guess I'd call that Pico Rivera, being as I grew up walking distance from there, and spent many of my young days at DT JCT in the mid to late 70's and early 80's watching the Santa Fe and the Southern Pacific.

That's Los Nitos then. Better watch that GPS, you don't want it directing you onto train tracks somewhere! ;-)

The yard office at Los Nietos Yard was signed 'Whittier-Los Nietos'.
The line breifly touches the corners of Whittier

Interesting - if you search Los Nietos CA, it comes up on the top searches as "West Whittier."

Maybe the GPS was right? :-)

(In all honesty, I'm totally agnostic on the subject - just thought it was kind of funny when I searched Los Nietos that the first thing that came up was West Whittier. Obviously whoever programmed the newer Toyota GPS was following that.)
