Black Butte's searchlight's days are limited

Went up to Black Butte this afternoon and it appears the searchlight signals are ready to come down.

Photo#1 An empty ribbon rail train passing the soon to be replaced signals.

Photo#2 The signal that protects the Siskiyou Line with Shastina and Mt Shasta.

Photo#3 The Black Butte water tower framed by a couple of signals.

Here's one of the base's for the new signals. They are pounded into the ground like giant railroad spikes.

The searchlights usually are rock solid in installation.

How much do you want to bet the new signals will be tilting. I see it all the time with the new stuff. Just not the same.

Gonna miss the beautiful, "easy on the eyes" searchlights.

And............someday Photo Bob will publish a book of his many photos. It will sell out. So will the 2nd printing, requiring a 3rd printing. Photo Bob will be rich.
