Western Railroad Discussion > In The Colorado High Country Today

I had a day off and decided to go up to the High Country west of Denver and enjoy some time off. The only train I saw all afternoon was Amtrak #6 as it passed through Kremmling. The rest of the trip home was spent photographing some of the Christmas lights at some of the ranches along Highway 9 between Kremmling and Silverthorn as I worked my way home.

Photo #1- Amtrak #6 races east from the east switch at Kremmling as it accelerates to the 70 mph track speed allowed eastward from Kremmling.

Photos #2 & 3- Some of the Christmas lights visible from the highway as I drove home at the ranches along the highway... That's Venus visible to the right of the frame in #2.
