New BNSF SD70ACes

New BNSF SD70ACes starting at number 8520 are being delivered to the railroad now. Anyone know how many are in this order, or if someone has access, can a builders number be obtained?
TIA,

Wow, right now 8749 is the lowest numbered one (wreck rebuild ex 9159).

20; there are the new SD70ACe-p6. 6 invertors, 1 per axles instead of 1 invertor per truck.

Maybe some of these will be Heritage units! ;-)

I would even settle for the simpler "H4" paint scheme.

20 SD70ACe-P6 #8500-8519. These are the units with one inverter per axle.

180 SD70ACe #8520-8699. These are standard SD70ACe's with one inverter per truck like all currently operating BNSF SD70ACe's.

If I'm not mistaken then, these would be the first P6s to be placed in service ANYWHERE, right? Because the CPR had 30 of them on order, but canceled them out and replaced them with more ES44ACs. One thing is for certain: DC-Motored Units for heavy-haul freight are dead with regard to New-Build purchases/leases. As even holdouts such as CN, CPR, and the NS have now seen the light.

CN had 30 on order, they cancelled that and got more ES44ACs but late last year they picked up the 4 P6 Demos from EMD (now 8100-8103).

Hundreds of 'em, and yet I never see one out here in Northern Cal. ARRGH.
