Western Railroad Discussion > Re-build?Date: 04/17/14 20:07 Re-build? Author: SP7615 I was going thru some of my pictures and noticed this UP Unit with a different headlight placement. Could this unit have been a wreck repair.
SP7615 Date: 04/17/14 20:29 Re: Re-build? Author: SCAX3401 The story I have heard from several different sources is that the 7312 was wrecked in a grade crossing accident while on the Norfolk Southern in late 2004 or early 2005. It suffered severe cab damage and was repaired in an Norfolk Southern with a spare cab that was on hand at the shop. Norfolk Southern GE units (at least at the time) have the main headlight above the cab windows.
