Western Railroad Discussion > Not a good day in the neighborhood!!!!!

I went over to Palmer Lake, CO. I would try shooting the NS 8102 (Pennsy) engine that was on a empty train. This is the JB's neighborhood. As you will see, the weather was not that kind to me. I will post a few images. I know that other Colorado photographers have or will post some shots, today. I will not (NS 8102)!!!!

1. A south bound oil train is going over the top at Palmer Lake, CO.

2. The manned helpers on the rear end over the power switch, Palmer Lake.

3. The helpers are leaving Palmer Lake heading back to Big Lift for another help.

4. The helpers on the north bound track, heading back to Big Lift.

5. 9127 a fairly new unit on an north bound empty, south of Palmer Lake.

6. This coal load was down in the sag, north of Palmer Lake. It had to wait on two north bound trains. As you can tell, it was not a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

7. The DPU's on the coal load. This train did not have a manned helper. It is nearing the top.

I had a few drops of rain that fell on me, but nothing soaking. The people in south east Colorado had better weather for the NS 8102.

Nice catch on the CREX helper set Gary! I like that last shot with the "Wagon Wheel" SD70MAC as well, typical Colorado afternoon sky:}

Colorado is beautiful any weather! But if there's a God, why does it rain on little kids' Easter egg hunts, like it just did here in Oregon?
