Tehachapi Aerial Photography
Author: cinder

I plan to make my biennial Tehachapi railfan trip April 30-May 3. As with recent trips, I plan a photo flight covering Caliente to Tehachapi, chartering a plane and pilot. What work windows might I encounter between Wed., Apr 30 and Sat, May 3?

The two aerials below were taken in May 2012.

It's a Bird, It's Plane, It's Cinder in the air again, but out west! Good photos and yes I think taking photos from different views are terrific. Thank you Cinder.

Cinder, I am of no help with the work windows, but ask where do you fly from? Fox Field in Lancaster? One of the two (at least there used to be two) field in Tehachapi?

You might have some company in the skies if Walstib ever decides to head inland from the coast for some Tehachapi views with his quad-copter!

Having just come from the Toledo R/C show, 2 companies selling drones, surely gave a indication of the next level of photography, without having to buy a Cessna or Blackhawk. One company had the work around the old PW steel plant in Wheeling..
It is really advancing faster than one can imagine. I saw the Steve Neff reshoot of the Big 4 line thru Indy with some Drone stuff Steve did and it really makes one want to go back out and reshoot some of the angles from above.
