What's BNSF 1005 doing on the Dunsmuir-Cam?

Following the theme, it looks like a little re-route action in Northern California, anybody know why?

Or is it just another Military train?

I'd like to know also. It had a block of autoracks in the front and then the rest was mixed. Watched it go by at N Dunsmuir. Looked like the cab was full so maybe BNSF crews are getting qualified on this route? I think it was a year ago June when we had the two weeks of reroutes. There should be another BNSF northbound heading through Dunsmuir tonight.

A little bird dropped a note about MOW work on the Gateway Sub today.

We have been detouring some trains in the last few weeks that way. If I had the seniority, I'd get on that pilot board ( Stockton to Dunsmuir ).

Saw a Herzog ballast train headed up the Gateway last night. It is that time of the year!

About right, it's always been either on 44 or over on the railroad, one
year they were changing out the crossing while they were widening the road!
Coulda made a fortune catering to the waiting crowd.
