Warbonnets, A Canadian & NS 1065 Along US Route 66...
Author: oklachaser

Thanks to a heads-up from a fellow out-of-state TO member Wednesday that NS 1065 was on the WB BNSF LIN-TUL train; me & SCKP187 headed east out of Tulsa following Route 66 yesterday afternoon in search of it. After learning from TTownTrains that there was a work window until 15:30 east of Tulsa on the BNSF & that the train was still in Kansas at 12:30 we decided to head up to Kansas. Along the way we stopped by Catale OK & that's where we shot WB BNSF 706 & 1750 on what looked to me like a work train. After Catale we continued towards Kansas following Rte 66. After stopping in Baxter Springs KS & not seeing anything we decided to head on north to Columbus KS. After arriving in Columbus we decided to stop by McDonald's to grab a bite to eat. As we were walking in we heard a train, so we got our burgers & headed back south to see if it was the LIN-TUL, sure enough it was. Let the chase begin. We made a beeline back to Baxter Springs with just enough time to jump out of the car & get a couple of shots. Here are a few shots that I got yesterday.
