On July 8th, I photographed the UP 9647 in KCS' Knoche Yard in Kansas City. According to the thread here ( http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,3465369,3466273#msg-3466273 ), this is the last SP-painted Dash-9 on the roster, and I was wondering if any of you knew of it's current paint status. It's awfully close to Mid-America car at this place in the KCS yard, and by it's appearance, it sure looks like it could use a new coat. Any thoughts on the "other" 9647? However, trace says it's up in Albia, IA at Relco. Shows it's still there.

I just looked them up on RRPA and they've both been repainted for years. UP 6164 had similar fire damage some months back, and Harbor Rail Services in Fresno, CA has just recently made repairs to it including a coat of black paint on the mid section of the long hood.
