BN B30-7A B-units today
Author: BrianA

While scanning a photo of the BN 4005 today I got to wondering what had become of it. I know all of the BN B-units were retired in 1999 but some went to shortlines while most were scrapped. I am guessing the 4005 was scrapped. Didn't all of them also go back to GE in New York at one time to be rebuilt? Anyone know of any lists as to what happened to all of the BN's 4000 series GE B-units?

I know the 4085 went to Minnesota Commercial as their 858 and 5 more went to P&W.

How about the rest?

The five that went to the P&W are still running. Unually their's one or two on a stone drag out of Wallingford, Ct from the Tilcon plant or Pine Orchard which is along Amtraks NEC here in Ct.

Several ended up in Brazil, not sure of their status down there though.

Here is a list of the B30-7As that went to Brazil
