Where am I

I've never done one of these. I'm not sure why that came out sideways.

At a guess, someplace along the original ROW for the UP transcend line.

Somewhere very, very weird. Perhaps somewhere in Aksarben ( http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,3497194 ) or Nebraksa. Whenever I try to type Nebraska on my computer, it always automatically spell-checks it to "Nebraksa". Is Nebraksa even a word?

Oh, and I think I have an idea as for why the photo is sideways: was it taken with an iPhone? I don't exactly know why, but when you post photos taken with an iPhone here, they often show up sideways or upside-down. A few months ago, I took several photos of the Grand Central Terminal concourse with an iPhone, posted them here, and all turned out upside-down.

you took that with a phone, correct? If so you must wait until the phones orientation detects the way you are holding the camera; i.e if you are holding it vertical and flip it horizontal you must wait until the phone realizes it has been turned horizontal to take the picture or shoot a video. The best thing to do is approach the subject with the phone in the orientation that you intend to take the picture or open the camera app in that particular orientation.

It must have been the railroad with the steepest superelevated tangent.

Well, I would figure it is either the SP&S or Milwaukee Road ROW in Washington state.. Just not 100% of which one it could be..

How about neither. Here's a hint. There is active rail line not 100ft away.

Reminds me of the ex-NP at Adrian with the ex-GN nearby as the Columbia River Sub. I'm going to guess you were in the hole for a meet and went exploring. This view is looking south and there is a rock in the cut that now prevents driving the old grade through there.
