This sounds as if 6936 is being put back into revenue service. It wouldn't be the first time this engine has been called out to assist power needs.

And it seems they learned their lesson and are not letting it lead so it won't have a semi-trailer wrapped around that nose, again...

Doesn't UP still have lots of units in storage?

None that are servicable. Everything that can run is running. Everything parked is in need of work. They are working on getting the out of service units back running, but it takes time. The biggest group of units out of service is the SD9043AC's which are just starting to get frame repairs so they can be returned to service. Currently trains are being held all over the system due to a lack of power, or late arriving power.

Now the UP6936 is showing to be on the MDVNP-1 departed around 6 pm today. I will check back to see what the consist is later today. You never know until the train crew is called what will really be. Always subject to change.
