A month or so ago, someone was asking about the former Alaska RDCs that can be seen at the WES shops in Wilsonville, OR. Tonight, while fanning WES around Tigard, OR, we lucked into the Northbound (technically Eastbound) pair meeting a Southbound (technically Westbound) single meeting the RDCs. The RDC's are definately quieter than the DMUs! Now I need to catch them for a ride to see how they compare!

Great shots! Nothing beats hearing and feeling the RDC transmission accelerate from a station stop. A few months ago, I rode the DMUs from Tigard to Beaverton, then back to Wilsonville, just to catch the last trip north on the RDCs. Well worth it! And that cool machine and I are the same vintage!

You'd think they could come up with a better name, but then again... it's TriMet.

Do they carry any reporting marks? I'm too lazy to look.

It would be interesting to compare the older models to the newer ones. Looks interesting, may try that someday.
