Some Goodies in Burlington, IA
Author: SantaFe9820

I was surprised at the amount of activity in BNSF's Burlington yard today. Two b40-8Ws at the north end of the yard, another at the south end kicking cars, an action I have not seen done in Burlington in years, a hidden white-face GP39E, an interesting pair composed of CN SD60 #5443 (ex EMDX 9000) and a Warbonnet that wouldn't look too bad if it didn't have burn damage.

1. The aforementioned pair.

2. I always make sure to get a picture of power with the elevators.

3. This GP7 (9? 18? I never know the difference...) was looking sharp, but had no apparent reporting marks. Anyone know the deets on this one?

Thanks for looking!

No idea who owns the GP, but it looks like a very recent repaint!
No number boards, no lettering at all and looks like it was painted inside
and out and the radiator fans are still covered!
The engine seen through the open hood door is way to clean looking for
a two stroke EMD!!

Gonna say late GP9 as the radiators and air intakes look like
they're covered with "chicken wire", standard for the 9's.

Hopefully, Brian can come up with some better info on it.

GP9 was in ADM colors before re painting. Had number. 0942 on it. The building behind it is what BJRY uses as a paint shop.

Isn't it a private contractor that does the painting?

The geep is in what looks to be exact GN Big Sky colors. I actually think this version is what GN should have used. Nice.

Sorry, Keith, but the blue is much too dark for "Big Sky Blue,"
or as some of us like to say; B** S*** blue.

Several motors have been painted there recently, a GP35M is there now and a Cargill SD38 was done earlier this summer
