I could only read this on my smart phone, it was blocked out on my home computer browser for some reason.
I am not sure what this will mean for the Moffat Road if the article is accurate. I imagine it has been a long time since a seam this thick has been discovered.... It can only mean good news for the Craig Branch if the info is accurate.

Article mentions more than seven million tons of coal, no details on the grade / quality.

Colo-Wyo at Axial was going down 300-400 feet to reach 7 layers of coal, the thickiest IIRC was about 10-12 feet! The thinest was less than a foot thick. 25 feet starts to rival the PRB! Well, at least a thorn in its side.

Hopefully this will increase traffic on the Craig Branch!

The UP website has a wealth of info on the coal quality of this mine, and of other shippers. I suspect the info was supplied by the mine owner.

This is a new seam, the article says tests were being done to find quality..... The UP info is for the currently mined portion....
