Western Railroad Discussion > San Luis ObispoDate: 10/21/14 10:16 San Luis Obispo Author: BlaineM We will be traveling to San Luis Obispo next month for four days to attend our daughter's concerts. Days will be free so I am wondering besides #11 and #14 what other activity might I find as far as fright traffic? Of course I have studied and we will frequent the museum.
Thank you for your info. Blaine McKinney American Fork Utah Date: 10/21/14 10:21 Re: San Luis Obispo Author: strench707 Oil Cans in the early and late hours a couple times a week.
Baretable and auto repos southbound. They average out to about 1 per day. Unfortunately not really anything more.... Davis Posted from iPhone Date: 10/21/14 10:44 Re: San Luis Obispo Author: railstiesballast There are also two Surfliner runs that terminate at SLO, one overnight and one mid-day.
Check out the museum just southeast of the depot too. Date: 10/21/14 11:05 Re: San Luis Obispo Author: SCAX3401 How for north does the local out of Guadalupe run?

Out Date: 10/21/14 14:25 Re: San Luis Obispo Author: BNModeler If you are in town on Thursday night, check out the Farmer Market downtown SLO. The BBQ is GREAT!
Just ask anyone and they will tell you how to get to it. Date: 10/21/14 14:33 Re: San Luis Obispo Author: miralomarail If your into Model RailRoading , then drive North up to the City of Atascadero and " Central Coast Train" a friendly and well stocked shop
Date: 10/21/14 15:31 Re: San Luis Obispo Author: bradleymckay Go south 30 miles to Santa Maria/Guadalupe and check out the Santa Maria Valley RR. Best time to find something running is between 1 and 5pm.
Allen Date: 10/21/14 19:14 Re: San Luis Obispo Author: jimB SLO and vicinity are delightful, but not many trains. SLO has a great downtown, Morro Bay and Pismo Beach are fun coastal towns, and there are good restaurants all over. Also a lot of wine tasting.
My daughter graduated in 2009 - enjoyed the visits. Jim B Date: 10/21/14 19:19 Re: San Luis Obispo Author: Waybiller Headed down to visit my daughter on Friday. Will try and swing by the museum maybe Friday afternoon when she's in class.

Thursday night used to be cruise night for all the guys that were into cars and hot-rods. The downtown shop merchants began complaining about losing business in the late 1970's, so the city put a stop to it by simply replacing cruise night with Farmers Market. The car guys were NOT happy!
