Switching out Fresh (& Primered) KCS Belles in KC

Last night, I left sd39u's place to find something cool to point my camera at, and I ended up at Mid-America Car in Kansas City, MO, and the trip certainly did not disappoint. They're in the process of painting a large number of new KCS and FEC units (For the FEC, see here: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?2,3587564 ), with some new IAIS GE's that're on their way, so the shop crews are working overtime, allowing for some great night photography.

When I first arrived, I saw the freshly painted KCS SD70ACe #4183 sitting outside, while MAC's ex-Southern SW1 #82 shoved the next KCS GEVO inside for its coat of paint. I've always enjoyed the sounds of the #82, and in the crisp winter air, it sounds fantastic!

Photos 4-5: After shoving the GE into the shop, MAC #82 came back out to bring the KCS #4183 back inside for some finishing touches, allowing for this shot of the ACe at Warp Speed.

Photo 6: As a bonus, the KCS #4190 has been on the property for less than a week, having been delivered on NS train 33J, and it was sitting just about 1/4 mile south of MAC in KCS' Knoche Yard.

Few things in the railfan world look as good as a freshly painted Belle, and I'm always happy to shoot them.

Well, this is a shot from June 2013, but here she is! I love watching this little guy work.

Thanks Russell! This time of year, it seems that if I want to shoot anything after work, I have to pull out the tripod, so I'm getting my fair share of practice.
