Western Railroad Discussion > U-Boats in Lebanon, and Jolly Old St. NickDate: 12/13/14 21:34 U-Boats in Lebanon, and Jolly Old St. Nick Author: SilvertonRR100 Lebanon, Oregon, that is. It is time for the Santa Express on the Albany & Eastern Railroad, so they put together a fiv car train, put a B23-7 on each end, and loaded the train with Santa and his helpers, and lots of kids and adults, and off the went for a six mile ride towards Sweet Home and then back! The roughly one hour trips depart the Lebanon depot at 11, 1, & 3 today, Sunday, and both days next weekend.
Photo one: The car of the hour, RFRX 1003 which is serving as Santa's headquarters. Photo two: Loading before departure. Photo Three: The 4201 gets the train moving out of the depot site. Smoking up just like a GE, part of why we love them! Well, some of us do! Rob Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 12/13/14 22:18 by SilvertonRR100. BTW the locomotives are B23-7 built in '78. We would have had the black widow painted 5399, but it was easier to shuffle the GEs on to the train. I was working and didn't have the ability to take pictures. I did see some people out taking pictures, maybe one of them was a TO member.

How do you publicize this? I'd like to ride if you do it in the future. Date: 12/14/14 08:01 Re: U-Boats in Lebanon, and Jolly Old St. Nick Author: shay2305 Nice photos. That's me in the first photo at the bottom of the stairs waiting to help load passengers. I was also the engineer on the 4202. I don't know how the trains are advertised, however a basic website is found at santiamexcursiontrains.com.

I finally found the information after searching A&E Santa. They must have done some good advertising if the runs were sold out. Mike & I just stumbled into it after going to the model swap meet nearby. Rob Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/17/14 08:07 by SilvertonRR100.
