It was a short thermometer in Ritzville, WA with a high of 44 and low of 40 with .18 of rain on the BNSF Lakeside Sub. Slept in today after a busy day yesterday so didn't shoot first train until 1007am and almost miss it at that. Turned out to be a low traffic Friday on the BNSF, which made it a lazy day for me. Here is what rolled thru the backyard today. I gave #27 Empire Builder a good roll-by from bed at 610am, LOL. Now that it is dark, traffic is picking up for probably a busy weekend.

1. WB 1007am manifest train with BNSF 8050 on the point with hello toot-toots from a friend at the throttle. Almost missed the train, sneaked up on me. It was a very long train and was informed 8000ft.
2. WB 1037am stack/intermodal train with BNSF 5522-942 on the pull.

3. EB 1154am grain train with BNSF 7491, CSX 849, CP 9536, BNSF 68??-6041-7864 on the point, no DPU.

5. EB 104pm stack train with BNSF 4974-4432 on the pull.

6. EB 218pm manifest train with BNSF 7559-4756-8280 on the point with DPU.

8. EB 255pm grain train with BNSF 8262-4963 on the pull with DPU's.
9. DPU's BNSF 5012 and CP 9537 on same train.

10. WB 340pm coal train with BNSF 8871-5756 and green and cream 9560 on the point with DPU.
11. Green and cream 9560.
12. DPU BNSF 8536 on same train.

I see you caught BNSF 942. I remember that unit getting H3 paint during the heart of the recession, when all the dash 8's were parked. Now with things booming on BNSF, she blends right in.
