Mystery Motor at North Platte
Author: NDHolmes

I drove by the North Platte yard on the way through Nebraska today, and found this export unit sitting under a tarp near the hump. Anybody know what's under the bag and where it's going? It's not a design I recognize or can match up with anything from the outline. Looks like either an EMD or NRE product based on the fuel tank shape.

I'm betting it's a unit for Australia built by MPI -- MP27CN #CBH025 for CBH Rail based on colors and timing.

First time I've even heard of an MP27CN, but that certainly looks right. Nicely done, thanks!

Not the greatest picture, but here's what they look like unwrapped.

It's a tail to tail collision between a GE and a Sprinter van!
