Winterail 2015
Author: mojaveflyer

I went to the Winterail website and saw little about what is planned for Winterail 2015. I attempted to send Vic Neves an e-mail using the address on the website. It bounced back.

Anyone know what is going on?

Did you go to this page about the shows? http://winterail.com/Winterail_Shows.html What were the other things you wanted to know? There's plenty of us on TO who've been to Winterail that can help you.

That page did not come up when I looked. I was looking for ticket info and couldn't find the website for that or the address to send a check and a SSAE. Thanks!

A friend told me that 2015 would be the last year for Winterail in California.

Vic moved to OR but I doubt the crowds would follow it up north there. They already have Gorgerail up there. Vic has been training Evan to run things very well over the years so hopefully it stays as is. They finally scheduled on a weekend that is not my kids bday so I can go this year.

I heard the same thing, too, from a friend.
I think Evan would do an excellent job as Vic's
successor, if he wants to do that. We will all miss
Vic at the helm, if he steps down.

In my view, Winterail has to be in California in order
to attract enough people to make it viable financially.

Carol Voss is right: Winterail is the"high holy day
of railfandom". If you have never been, please do
go -- the programs are always excellent -- this year's
programs look superb! -- and the opportunity to visit
with lots of really neat people can't be beat!
